Give Your Heart Away — or Someone Else’s

my-heartSo Valentine’s Day is coming up next month. You know, every year, people get a little more intense about expression their love for one another. And it has finally happened: you can get your beloved an almost-real heart for Valentine’s Day.

Granted, it will be someone else’s heart, not yours. Who? David Foox, an artist. He has put together a limited edition of valentines. hey consisted of anatomically correct hearts, painted on … X-rays. Innovative? Absolutely. One of a kind? Without question. A little gruesome? Well … yeah, now that you mention it.

Plus they are going to go for three thousand dollars. Each. There are eight paintings. How much to you love your beloved? Enough to spend three grand on a card? How about twenty four thou?

Futuristic Bike Gets Inspiration from the Past

monobikeWho doesn’t need — or at least want — a monobike, right? Well sure, okay; if you have to spend your money on some kind of luxury item, better something that lets you get a little exercise, I suppose.

This monobike may look to the future in its design elements, but it gets its inspiration straight from the past — World War II, as a matter of fact.

Alkis Karaolis is responsible for the monobike, which easily looks like it comes from a movie that more likely than not stars Christian Bale or Tom Cruise or something.

Not so, however. The motorcycles designed, built, and driven during World War II are responsible for a lot of the design elements.

Still, it may well be the future before people start trying to navigate their way through crowded city streets in this bike.

Indulge in a Postmodern Frenzy for Your Walls

karim-rashid-tiles-1Oh em gee. I am so totally in love — and in awe, and in utter thrall — that I cannot even stand it.

Have you ever seen anything as cool as this wall? This postmodern design is all thanks to Karim Rashid, who is responsible for a number of decorative tiles, made of metal, with edgy, rather avant garde chic modern designs. More please!

These are the work of a collaborative effort with Allow Design, an Australian company of some renown. The collection between Rashid and Allow Design contains eight different designs and styles, and with each different style, you get a variety of cells in recurring patterns.

The tiles can be steel, raw steel, brass, titanium, or copper.

Seriously — more please!

Glass Katana: Art or Weaponry?

katana_sword1Weaponry has long been a source of art, especially swords. People view swords in many ways. No many how you think of them, you will likely have to admit that, historically accurate or not, this glass katana is absolutely beautiful. It is an extremely rare sword, so serious collectors need to keep an eye out.

Monique Schloss, a highly reputable, highly skilled, highly renowned glass artist, designed the katana, which has nearly seventy diamonds decorating it. Its vast, intricate decorations include rubes as well.

Furthermore, those high quality, flawless gemstones are not merely affixed to the glass. They are not glued on or anything like that. They are actually embedded in the glass. Could you die?

Well, if that doesn’t kill you, the fact that the katana is going to be sold for no less than one million dollars may do the trick.

Taking Your Luxurious Getaway on the Road

mauiWe all like to take fun filled, luxurious vacations, right? Sure. But who has time for that, right? Right. We are always on the go, we never have time to stop — so why not take your vacation on the go, too?

Maui Custom Suites gives you the opportunity to do just that, by way of what basically amount to hotels on wheels.

Now, I have to be honest. I am being a little tongue in cheek here, because although the rolling hotel you see here is more than six hundred square feet, you have to admit that it is kind of … really, super tacky looking.

But hey, you can get these babies to suit your needs. Full kitchens, entire bathrooms, living spaces, even laundry facilities — and an attendant there to serve you. With motion sickness bags.

You’ll Need to Save Your Pennies if You Buy this Piggy Bank!

piggy-bankStyle aficionados and fans of luxury, this most definitely ain’t your mama’s piggy bank, no sirree. What we have here is the result of a little get together between Royal Delft, an old company established way back in 1653, and Marcel Wanderers.

It may look like just another piggy bank, but oh no, my good friends and neighbors, that simply is not the case.

It is part of Delft’s Blue Collection, and it will seriously inspire you to save as much money as you can — great advice, in these troubled financial times.

A good message, right? Absolutely. But a somewhat dual sided one, since the piggy bank itself costs more than twelve hundred dollars — $1,288.00, to be exact. You just might need to buy a more ordinary piggy bank to start saving your pennies just so you can buy the upgraded version.

Mon Precious Nectar Fountain Imperiale: The Newest Hot Perfume

perfumeYou are looking at a bottle of Mon Precious Nectar Fountain Imperiale, a new and decidedly rare perfume you can, if you are willing and able, get in a liter bottle.

Mind you, this perfume is solely for those with a nose for rare scents and a bank account that can afford them. It goes for nine thousand dollars, so precious few of us will actually be wearing it.

Still, nine thousand dollars for a liter’s worth of perfume that is universally touted as being quite rare almost isn’t too out of line.

Also known as Precieux Nectar, the scent is an intoxicating combination of floral, musk, and fruit. As you can see, the crystal bottle is also quite lovely, and its stopper features both an engraving of a honey bee and the Guerlain emblem.

The Wall of Sound: iPods Largest Speakers!

Wall of SoundIt has to be said that many people nowadays are looking for bigger, badder and better electronics and the companies are certainly trying to come up with any ideas possible to meet these demands.  Well, I can tell you that the brand new speaker dubbed the ‘Wall of Sound’ is certainly living up to the bigger portion of the deal.

Not only is this speaker by far the biggest iPod speaker out there but it is the best too.  The Wall of Sound is weights about 225 pounds, stands about a meter tall and can pump about 125 watts of rawthroated power.

Pretty much, this speaker is made up of 28 individual speakers and each of them are housed in their own chamber.  You want this thing?  $4,500 is the price for it.

Concrete Evidence that Alexa Lixfeld Is Awesome

alexa1Yes, you are seeing exactly what you think you are seeing. The bottle for Fragrance by Alexa Lixfeld is sealed by a piece of concrete — what better way to keep in all those beautiful smells, right?

Actually, Alexa Lixfeld, a designer who hails from Hamberg, is rather well known for creating perfume bottles that have concrete lids and seals — and no worries. It is completely safe and stable.

Not only are the designs quite awesome, but the fragrances are fantastic as well. One type features oriental scents with hints of rosemary; another offers the scent of sandalwood; and a third provides the cool, feminine scents of jasmine and lilies.

Plus, of course, you can always carry your perfume with you and use it to defend yourself, should the need arise!
