Alternatives when you do not have a closet

If you have lived in different houses or apartments thru the years, you might be able to count the times when you found the closet space enough for all your clothes. This can be very challenging when you have a very small space. You need to think out of the box to come up with a solution. Here are closet alternatives where you can keep your clothes:

Chains

When you really have a small space, you can hang some hooks on the ceiling and attached a long chain on each of them. You need chains with big links so you can fit the head of the hanger thru the holes. This is an easy solution for a vertical closet. You can also form a ladder like structure using chains so you can form a clothes bar and something to hold your other belongings.

Rolling Storage

You can also use rolling racks. This is a cheap solution you just need to look for a good quality rack with strong joints and solid shelves.

Pluming pipe

When spending hundreds of dollars to buy a storage rack is not reasonable for the small space you have, maybe you need to consider some plumping pipes and some studs. You can ask the hardware to cut them for you and then just form the hanging piece you need for your clothes.

Consoles, Cabinets, Armoires

We are not for pricey modern versions of these which also gives away that you are storing clothes including your underwear in your living room. If they fit your taste, go for the more traditional material and look which may also double as a stand for your television and other entertainment appliances.

The LBD Gets a Luxury Makeover

swarovski_black_dress_Oh, ladies. You might not want to look at this, it’s going to hurt — at least, if you are a fashionista and/or a style maven who always clamors for what is new and hot and stylish.

Like this new take on the little black dress, bedazzled with Swarovski crystals. Be still my beating heart, you know?

The looks pictured here are part of a catalog, put out by Phillips de Pury & Company as well as Crystallized Swarovski elements.

It features looks from designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as Martin Grant, just to name a very few. There are twenty two different ways to say and to wear black.

Is that an iPod in Your Tie (or Are You Happy to See Me)?

pinkcomtieSo, let’s say you are a busy, professional, music loving man who is constantly on the go and does not have a lot of room to juggle the various accouterments of your day to day life. Heck, or perhaps you are a busy, professional, music loving girl who is constantly on the go, does not have a lot of room to juggle the various accouterments of your day to day life, but does have an affinity for ties.

Either way, this iPod Tie from Thomas Pink is a must have for you. Thomas Pink, owned by LVMH and located in London, is known as a shirt maker and haberdasher, and they are responsible for this rather adorable, innovative accessory. Officially known as the Commuter Tie, it is specially designed to hold your iPod, and it will definitely be making waves in autumn and winter of 2009 and 2010.

The tie is one hundred percent decadent, woven silk. On the reverse side, it features a pocket perfect for holding an iPod or other MP3 player. Currently, the pocket is made to fit devices like the iPod Nano and other, similarly small players. There is even an extra loop which will make sure the wires are completely out of sight.

For just one hundred dollars, you can get a tie in charcoal, gray, blue, purple, orange, red, green, or this luscious dark pink.
